Northern Employment and Business Hub

Are you looking for staff? Or are you looking for a job?

It is well known that rural businesses find it hard to attract people, but an innovative new program is working with businesses to help place people into rural jobs and ease the burden.

The Northern Employment Business Hub (NEBHub) is funded by the state government following an election commitment in 2021 and is operated by the Bell Bay Advanced Manufacturing Zone (BBAMZ). This is a free service to business and job seekers.

The development of the Northern Employment Business Hub (NEBHub) means that there is a dedicated service in northern Tasmania that works with businesses,

job seekers and other agencies in the Northern Midlands, George Town, Meander Valley, Launceston, West Tamar, and Flinders Island municipalities to place local people into local jobs.

NEBHub has an experienced team who are working in the community, developing new employment relationships in all regional industries. NEBHub provides a place-based, personalised service to support local employers in diversifying, identifying the right staff for their business, and covering off on their immediate staffing requirements and future opportunities. We also concentrate on job seekers, assisting them to identify their strengths and opportunities for improvement. NEBHub sets job seekers up to succeed in their chosen fields.

The NEBHub's aim is to strengthen local workforce development in these key regional industries for the benefit of businesses and employees. NEBHub supports local businesses and employees with workforce and training needs, all the while matching people with great work opportunities in rural and regional areas.

A key part of the NEBHub service is the provision of after-placement support. NEBHub recognises that often the greatest challenge isn’t the placement, it is the ongoing support required to ensure that the employment relationship continues.

The NEBHub works with job seekers with:

  • Job applications

  • Job searches

  • Interview Preparation

  • Connection with local support services

  • Career coaching and mentoring

  • Business support

NebHub provides a free outreach service to all communities and it's voluntary to engage with their team of professionals. Put simply, NEBHub matches people with great work opportunities and provides after-placement support to maximise the long-term success of the employment relationship.
